Intensive Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were hurt.

The strikes come after periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
